Wonder Sessions

These are interactive, hands-on workshops where we actively apply the ideas discussed in our talks. Participants are invited to explore creative practices, guided exercises, and cognitive tools that foster a deeper connection to wonder. These sessions are immersive, playful, and practical, offering direct experience rather than just theory. They can vary in length, from half-day sessions to two-day workshops, allowing for a flexible and tailored learning experience. Keep an eye on our socials for updates on upcoming sessions, or feel free to book a session on demand whenever you'd like to dive deeper into the practices.

Shoshin – photographing with a beginner’s mind

Shoshin is a Japanese concept that means “beginner’s mind.” It is about looking with openness, curiosity, and without preconceptions – as if seeing everything for the very first time. On Sunday, September 28, Glenn D’Hondt invites you to explore this idea through photography. Using only a smartphone, you will practice seeing more attentively, training aesthetic principles such as composition, contrast, rhythm, and emptiness. Photography becomes a form of mindfulness: a way to cultivate wonder and discover beauty in the everyday.
The workshop includes practical exercises and a creative assignment. On Sunday, October 4, participants can return to share their work and exchange experiences.

This workshop is part of Tsukuru, the Japanese crafts festival in Aalst.
